Killarney Racecourse announces The Lee Stand Best Dressed Judges

Killarney Racecourse is set to host JulyFest, an exciting five-day summer horse-racing festival from Monday 17th to Friday 21st of July inclusive. JulyFest at Killarney Races offers great racing, socialising, entertainment and so much more at Ireland’s most scenic racecourse.

 

With lots of ticket levels and packages including food and beverage options to choose from, whether it is close to the action general admission tickets or silver service fine dining, there is something for everyone at Killarney Races. Live music, fashion and delicious food and beverage offerings complement the best of summer racing at the track this July.

 

For many patrons, the most competitive event of the week will take place off the track on Friday in the form of The Lee Strand Best Dressed fashion event! No less than 10 lucky ladies and 10 gents will be selected by the judges, each taking home a prize for their efforts in the fashion stakes. Ladies and gents will battle it out in style for the chance to be crowned best dressed and take home the covetable prizes of a trip for two to Paris and Milan.

 

This year’s celebrity judges are Kerry’s own and Digital Content Creator Tadhg Fleming and 2021 Miss Ireland Pamela Uba. The Lee Stand Judges will be out and about on track from early doors to find this year’s Lee Strand Best Dressed winners!

 

Digital Content Creator, Tadhg Fleming commented on the announcement “I’m absolutely delighted and excited to be part of this year’s Lee Strand Best Dressed at the Killarney Races! Being a local Kerry man, I am honoured to be this year’s judge with my fellow Ultimate Hell Week recruit Pamela. We will be keeping an eye out for the most stylish & head turning outfits on the day… and may I add I am a fan of outrageous and funky designs.”

Pamela Uba, Former Miss Ireland commented “I am super excited to be judging at the Killarney races this year. It’s such a day of fashion and style and having won best dressed lady at the Galway races previously myself I totally understand the effort that goes into it. I would be looking out for something fun and chic, that’s shows your personality and is unique. I can’t wait to see all the glam.”

Killarney Races welcomes Major Bookmarker William Hill to its sponsorship list, sponsoring 9 races in total over the first 2 days of flat racing. With their main feature race, The William Hill Extra PLACE Races Daily Handicap of €16,500. Wednesday the Irish stallion farms & European breeders fund (EBF) continues to support Killarney Racecourse featuring the highlight flat Race Cairn Rouge Stakes of €50,000 and not forgetting the Roses will be onsite to meet their escorts!

As we switch codes, TG4 will be broadcasting live from the corporate balcony on Thursday, featuring the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Hurdle of €18,500k. Friday is Lee Strand Best Dressed with the following features on the card The Lee Strand Handicap Hurdle of €22,000, The Boylesports Handicap Steeplechase of €45k Finishing off the July festival we have the Christy Lucey Mares (Pro/am) Flat Race of €11,500.

Friday is an afternoon meeting with the gates open at 12 noon and the first race off at 2pm so beat the traffic and come along early or better again take a stroll from town to the conveniently located racecourse.

 

Music in the Jim Culloty Bar will be provided after racing each and every day throughout the festival. Join us post racing with live music from Resolute on Monday and Tuesday evening, Cathal Flaherty on Wednesday and closing out the festival with Jack Patrick Healy on Thursday and Friday.

 

Patrons are advised to come early and enjoy something to eat or drink before racing, gates open two hours before the first race each day.
